Special Event Request

Planning a Large Special Event?

What is considered a special event? - Any event put on by an organization that meets the following criteria:

  • Over 50 attendees

  • Involves outside vendors (e.g., food trucks, port-o-lets)

  • Includes a road closure

  • Request for alcohol exemptions

  • Needs City equipment or staff (e.g., park rangers, tables, extra trash cans)

A minimum of 60 days' notice is required for review and approval.

Depending on the nature of your event, you may be responsible for:

  • Hiring City staff (e.g., off-duty officers, park rangers)

  • Providing extra portable toilets

  • Providing a facility deposit that will be refundable after the event

Examples of a special event are Dancing in the Streets, the Donna Marathon, the Turkey Trot, etc.
